Sint Anthonis Forest Reserve

The Sint Anthonis Forest Reserve is a beautiful nature reserve owned by Staatsbosbeheer (the Dutch Forestry Commission). It offers a diverse landscape of forest, heathland, and sand dunes. The heathlands feature old juniper bushes and damp heathland with rare plant species such as the dwarf sundew. Scots pine, once planted for mining in the Limburg coal mines, characterizes the forest. Kempen Heath sheep and Scottish Highland cattle graze on the heath.
